Ace The Interview (continued):
Personality:
- Treat EVERYONE you meet as important to the interview process.
- The interviewer will not only be assessing your skills and experience, but also your personality, enthusiasm, and whether they think you will fit in to the team or company culture.
- When the interviewer is speaking, listen thoroughly and do not interrupt.
- Offer them a firm handshake, maintain eye contact, stay focused, avoid jargon, don't fidget, ask before putting something on the interviewer's desk, don't speak too much, and SMILE!
- When the interview is finished, thank the interviewer for his or her time and offer a firm handshake.
Positive Attitude:
- Be positive and enthusiastic throughout the interview - don't mention any reservations until you have received an offer.
- Never request salary details until an offer is being discussed or unless the interviewer wishes to discuss it first.
- Always keep your recruitment consultant informed, as a professional consultant can help secure the right job at the salary you want.
- Regardless of your reasons for leaving your past or current employer, it is advisable not to make critical or negative remarks about them.
